Wormleysburg Borough Presents Key to Tom Martini
Wormleysburg Borough Council President Joe Deklinski presented a “Key to the Borough” to Tom Martini, who recently retired after 22 years on Council. Tom, who received a standing ovation at the presentation, was elected in 2000; he became Council President in 2008 and was appointed to the West Shore Regional Police Commission in 2014, where he became a great advocate for the Police Department. Tom also received a handmade glass plaque from Chief Tony Minium, Assistant Chief John Friel, and numerous officers in appreciation of his service.
More than 50 residents enjoyed a great meal at Duke’s Restaurant on May 21, 2022, at the Borough’s Annual Volunteer Dinner, which is held to celebrate and thank the dozens of people who give their time, energy and expertise to support Borough committees and boards. Volunteers serve on the Zoning Hearing Board, the Planning Commission, the River Front Committee, the Recreation Board, at municipal events and in other capacities that help to sustain our local quality of life. Anyone interested in joining our volunteer cadre should email the Borough Manager.
