The Wormleysburg Fire Company No. 1 and the Lemoyne Citizens' Fire Company merged in 1999 to form the West Shore Bureau of Fire. It is the first regional fire service in the area serving the Borough's of Wormleysburg and Lemoyne.  The West Shore Bureau of Fire is staffed by 25 volunteer fire fighters who provide round the clock fire and rescue services to the two borough's 6,000 residents. 
 
The Fire Bureau is governed by the West Shore Bureau of Fire Commission. The Commission includes two (2) members selected by the Wormleysburg Borough Council, two (2) members selected by the Lemoyne Borough Council and one (1) member selected by the members of the Fire Bureau.
 
The Fire Bureau has a station in the 300 block of Herman Avenue in Lemoyne and a station at 18 Market Street in Wormleysburg. The Fire Commission meets the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Lemoyne Borough Hall, 510 Herman Ave., Lemoyne PA - Map It
